Our organic vineyard is now in its tenth season. We are both inspired by grapes and their atmosphere. We have planted, Marquette, Petite Pearl, Riesling , vines for wine makers.
We have planted about 80 table grapes. These plants were purchased from the Finger Lakes area in New York. Now, they are accompanied by blueberries and raspberries.
In 2015, A variety of people, interested in grapes and wine, gathered for a meeting. The group began bylaws for the first Montana Grape Growers Association. This makes us founding members and pioneers in Montana grape growing. Real Science is important to us. The group began by inviting professionals from grape vineyards around the country to visit our vineyards or planned sites. The group has grown quickly and we all look forward to a prospering effort by grape growers and wine makers in Montana. Our personal interest, over time, has moved toward the table grapes.
Work progess has been, fencing, soil preparation, holes, planting, organic weed abatement, trellis installations, irrigation, vine management, and layout.
We have saved all of our cherry trees and added roses for landscaping. We have many plans for more landscaping improvements.
